There are three steps to becoming a
licensed New Mexico Contractor or Journeyman.

1. Getting Pre-approved by the state-licensing agency to be able to take the state exams.
2. Take and pass the appropriate trade and business exam.
3. Apply for the license by submitting an application to the state-licensing agency.
