In the state of New Mexico every contractor is required to have a physical address located in the state. This means that the contractor must have an address where there is a resident of some sort. If you do not have a physical address in New Mexico and your company is a corporation, you are required to have a Registered Agent. The reason why the state requires a New Mexico physical address is so that if you are ever summoned to a court, they will have someone locally to give the summons to. This is only required of Corporations that are located out of State. If you are an out of state sole proprietor you will not be required to have a Registered Agent. However, if you are a corporation and need assistance, Construction Seminars can help. We serve as Registered Agent for more than 500 New Mexico contractors. If you would like more information regarding this topic, or are in need of a Registered Agent, call today. |
