Step 3 in getting your New Mexico Contractor's or
Journeyman's License is Applying for the License
Once you have successfully passed all of the required exams you can submit an application to the state-licensing agency to apply for the license. Submitting the application will consist of the application itself, a state tax identification number, a contractor's license bond, your license fees, and corporate documents if you are incorporating. Once all of the documents and fees are received, the state-licensing agency will process your license. As long as everything is correct on the application, you will be issued your New Mexico State Contractor's License.


Journeyman need only to turn their passing scores into the state-licensing agency. All fees and application will have been collected during the pre-approval process.
